The concept of assisted living has been proven right, and now is well accepted. Before 1990, there was nothing like American House Assisted Living in the entire area. In fact, the American Houses are the first certified facilities in the entire state! So... we can't blame others for trying to copy our concept of assisted living for seniors. It simply reinforces the concept and provides choice for seniors. Every industry evolves through the "monkey see - monkey do" phase, but there usually are differences between the original and attempts at imitation. The differences are particularly noticeable when comparing assisted living facilities. Follow the lead of our newest residents. They compared the others to the Original American House, and after experiencing the differences for themselves, they chose American House! |
| Location: | We are centrally located within the natural community only a short walk to all services and necessities. We are not isolated on the out skirts of town where they have to attempt to create an artificial community. We get to watch people, the activities and regular events of our small community. People come and go and we can be active, stay involved and be included. |
| Facility Design: | We feel like we are Home and part of the Family. We step out of our private apartment and the rest of the House is only a few steps away. No long corridors to make it difficult if we have mobility problems. The elevator makes everything close and easy to get to, including our friends. We don’t have to share our bathrooms and shower with anyone else. |
| Staff Organization: | We feel safe, secure and comfortable knowing that the staff leadership has years of experience practicing as a state licensed NURSE. The American House was established in 1990 and has an excellent record with the state as both a licensed and Certified facility. The staff is always improving things and are very caring and kind. They respect us and treat us like FAMILY while they are available 24 hours per day. |
| Service Strategies: | The support, personal care and nursing care services are CUSTOM-FIT to individual resident’s current and changing needs. The services available are more comprehensive and wider ranging than other facilities. The whirlpool feels so good and we smell so clean when finished. The resident care coordinator talks directly with our doctors about changes in our health or side effects of our medications. |
| Peace of Mind: | When we ran out of our private funds, we were able to stay here because the American House is STATE CERTIFIED FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. |
| Affordable: | When we compared, we found we got more for our money at the American House and could pick the space and service plan that we could afford. We had heard this was expensive, but when we actually checked, it was less costly here compared to others. |

Everyone's talking about the American House Difference "My mother was apprehensive about leaving her home
for assisted living and it was a difficult decision. Parkinson's
disease had made it impossible to do common tasks, however her mind was
sharp! I will always remember her comment after she was at the
American House of Ripon for about three weeks, "I sure enjoy all the
assistance and service provided (by the American House) and I know I
really needed it." "My father's friends visited him more often after he
moved to the "downtown" American House than they had previously when he
lived alone -- a benefit he enjoyed but had not anticipated." "Mariam Smith's family is very grateful to you for
the years of care you provided. That's a blessing and American
House helped make that possible." "My family and I will be forever grateful that our
paths crossed at the exact time Jessie needed just a little more help in
her daily life. Your American House concept and your staff fit
exactly what Jessie needed to allow her to cross the final bridge of
life." "We will be forever grateful to all your staff for
all they did for Irene during her stay there." "Thanks to all of you -- nurses, staff and residents
for making mom (Ida) feel welcome in your home-like atmosphere." "The American House medication protocol with the
bubble pack system should help improve dosing accuracy and help with
patient care." "The most common comments I've heard from my patients
over the years, is that they feel living at the American House is homey
and they feel like family." "In the years of providing vision care to the family
of residents from the American House, one thing they have shared with me
is their appreciation of the family/home type atmosphere and the loving
care they are provided." "As a local provider of care, the American House
provides an integral role in the continuum of care for the Ripon health
care system." "We have noticed the American House's positive
effects on resident's health over many years and look forward to working
with the staff to continue this effort." "From my observation of visiting the American House
is the staff treat their residents with kindness and respect." Call for a free brochure (1-800-569-2188) There is a difference, now more than ever! |
